Dorset Youth Climbing Academy are an affiliated British Mountaineering Council club (No: B443500). We currently run two clubs on a regular basis during term time in Dorset catering for young people aged 9-18 years of age.
Our clubs are friendly, structured and run by the most experienced instructors in Dorset. We pride ourselves on providing high quality coaching and work closely with aspiring instructors and some of Dorset’s top climbers.
The cost of our weekly clubs is £7 per climber per week making the sessions affordable, accessible and very popular. We do have waiting lists for some of our clubs so please drop us an email DYCA@live.co.uk to book a FREE taster session.

New for Summer 2014 / 2015
DYCA have teamed up with Active Dorset to run a series of satellite clubs starting at Shaftesbury School on 2nd June 2014. By 2017 every secondary school in the UK will have satellite club provision offered. The aims of satellite clubs is to increase participation in sport, helping teenagers and young people to access new and exciting sporting opportunities. Satellite clubs bridge the gap between schools, colleges, university and the wider community.
The aims of the DYCA and Active Dorset satellite club are as follows;
1. Offer rock climbing as a new activity to a new community of young people aged 11-18 years of age.
2. Offer high quality coaching and access to all DYCA clubs, trips, competitions, ventures, the award scheme and Junior Instructor program.
3. Increase existing community club capacity due to high levels of demand for the sport of rock climbing.
4. Providing opportunities for a broad range of specific groups, such as gender and age specific sessions.
This exciting new program is a 3 year venture (2014-2017) which will feature 6 x 5 week blocks per calendar year bookable in advance. The price per session is subsidised to ensure sessions are affordable. To check out satellite club blocks visit our homepage or Facebook page.
